May 44
History > Statistical Data > Missing Air Crew Reports
All through the month of May, the 445th continued to pound the V-1 launch sites. These sites posed not only a problem to the Londoners, but also the invasion forces that were camped out all along the English countryside. Strikes continued on German airdromes and transportation centers inpreparation for the upcoming invasion. Four planes and crews were lost, although one crew did manage to make it to Sweden, a neutral country where they were interred.
