For over 20 years I have lived for the 445th Bomb Group above most everything in my life. It was my dream to try and learn all that I could about my dad's military service - and I have done that. I have literally done hundreds of mission histories for veterans and their families, but never really worked on my dad's history. Now time and health issues are forcing me to scale back on my work. I'm not as young as I was 22 years ago when I started my research. I plan on continuing work on this website and my Facebook 445th Group page and working on my dad's mission history for myself and my son. Thanks for the memories...

Recent changes in the 2022 Internal Revenue Service tax code has forced the author of this website to stop using third-party payment services (i.e. PayPal, Zelle, etc.) to be used for payment in the ordering of Personal Miliitary Biographies. All existing orders and any future orders will require payment by personal check or postal/bank money orders.

Finally, after countless trials as to a format to display the mission data, a solution has been selected. If you want to view missions flown between December 1943 and April 1945, look at the link "Mission Sumaries" and then go to "Summaries by Month". Choose a link to a particular month and you will see a calendar for that month with each mission flown during that month in a highlighted box with a link to that day's mission. Data will be displayed showing the USAAF Mission Summary, Field Order Number, number of aircraft that took off, dispatched, aborts, number of aircraft over primary/secondary/last resort, bomb load per aircraft/load gor the 445th Group, Tactical Mission Report, losses and general notes.

There's an old addage that if "Something ain't broke, Don't fix it!". As a former software engineer, I lived by that mantra. Now I'm trying to get my website authoring tool to follow that concept. They keep changing things, thinking they're making it "better". When it comes to formatting changes, they need to listen to their customers first. They made an arbitrary change in format for buttons and reduced the user's ability to customize their own buttons. I always thought the end user was who decided how things were to be done. So I've decided that I'm no longer going to be doing updates.

Well here we go for Day 2 of updates. I think (optimal word think) I've come up with a way of updating the mission pages that will allow them to load faster even though they contain a larger amount of data. I will post a notice Friday evening on the Facebook group page after I get the changes uploaded to the website hosting pages. I would appreciate any and all comments about the style, format, font used, etc. so I can present my data in the best way.

Sorry for the delay in getting my updates out. Had several orders come in for Personal Military Biographies come in. One had 146 photographs to be included and the other one will have 160+ images. Lots of pictures taken around base which are always appreciated as we have very few pictures of the airfield and activities going on outside. I'm also revising the Mission Summary Section with an individual page per mission flown - that's 280 new pages. I have new information from the Air Force Historical Research Agency (AFHRA) located at Air University, Maxwell AFB, AL regarding details about a lot of the mission flown by the 445th.

Once again my authoring tool has sent out an update which required major changes to fonts and type styles, so I'm back at it again. I've had lots of new pictures submitted so I will be working on getting those added'
